(FSSP) Do I need to attend a UCSB summer Orientation?

Attending Orientation is highly recommended for all incoming students. It provides an important and valuable head start for new students, whether beginning UCSB in summer or fall quarter. Students who attend Orientation will register for their fall courses during the two-day program.

To make the experience more complete, we recommend that students stay on campus in the Orientation residence halls during Freshman Orientation.

Parents who are attending the Parent Orientation program must make their own overnight arrangements separately. Orientation does not provide residence hall space for parents.

You can find more information about UCSB Summer Orientation here.
